Naked Lunch - William S. Burroughs, James Grauerholz, Barry Miles After trying to read this book and On The Road, I think it's safe for me to say that the Beat era of literature is tedious, self-indulgent nonsense masquerading as genius. This incoherent, meaningless drivel would probably only appeal to the most pretentious of people, who feign understanding and enjoyment of these sorts of books to back up their dislike of contemporary literature.
